FIFA Ballon D'or 2012

So there was 23-mans shortlist for the FIFA Ballon d’Or was compiled by the FIFA Football Committee and a group of experts from France Football. It was announced on 29 October.

Four days earlier, a ten-player shortlist was unveiled for the FIFA's Women's Player of the Year, which was chosen by experts from FIFA's Committee for Women's Football and the FIFA Women’s World Cup and a group of experts from France Football.

These have both been reduced to three players for each award, being announced on 29 November. You can read short profiles for each of the candidates below. From the final shortlists, journalists, national coaches and captains will vote for the winner of the FIFA Ballon d’Or and the FIFA Women’s World Player of the Year. 

In January 7th 2013 in zurich Switzerland the fifa ballon d'or 2012 man and women also the coach of the year award given. Lionel Messi is the FIFA Ballon d'Or 2012 winner. He was elected by the coaches and captains of the national teams of the 209 FIFA Member Associations and a selected group of media. Messi was been elected in front of runner-up Cristiano Ronaldo and Andres Iniesta, who came third. 

Abby Wambach from USA is the FIFA Women’s World Player ofhttp://www.fifa.com/ballondor/index.html the Year 2012. She was elected by the coaches and captains of the national teams of the 209 FIFA Member Associations and a selected group of Media. Wambach was voted ahead of runner-up Marta and Alex Morgan, who finished third.
